I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your
letter No: 32028/20 of 27 July 1920, and to regret my delay
in replying to the sare, due to my having been out of London.
2. I hope to be very shortly in a position to ask
for an appointment in order to discuss the various questions
upon which I am at issue with the longkong Covernment, which
include, in addition to that dealt with in my recent letter
addressed to the Rt Bonble the Secretary of State. For the
Colonies, the matters of my pension, of my having been re-
quired to leave my appointment at Hongkong after receiving
an undertaking that I should not be so required, of the fees
as Marshal of the Eongkong Prize Court now owing to me for
5% years, &c.
There is also the question, to which I have
frequently referred, of the short payment to me by the
Crown Agents of my salary during the war, amounting to some
hundreds
